Birthday

Claire

"On the first of May 1968,
A girl was born, my sisters mate,
We had to be together, it’s simply fate,
She played hard to get and made me wait.

But I kept trying to make her mine,
And 22 years later we’re doing fine,
I thank Oxford for bring her near,
And to my sister for getting her here.

Claire Williams is the name on my lips,
She’s salt and vinegar and I am the chips,
As the time goes by and we stay as one,
Other famous couples have come and gone.

Well you’re nearly forty and I still love you,
To keep me happy just do what you do,
Happy Birthday and all of my best,
I am so happy with you in my nest."

Happy Eighteenth

Having an Emergency Caesarean was never the intent,
But the staff of Queens Royal Hospital to work they went,
Where a 6lb 12oz beauty was delivered at Four Sixteen,
And here you are now just turning eighteen.

Brunel was the nursery for your early years,
Too early yet to think of careers,
Lower and Higher Weston, you went to them both,
This strengthened your talents and brought with it growth.

You wanted a Girl-only place to meet with your friends,
To do lots of things and to talk about trends,
You progressed through the ranks, from Rainbow to Guide,
You made lots of friends along on the ride.

On top of all this you still managed more,
To defend your self and know the score,
Kick Boxing was the art you started to master,
Any would-be muggers you surely would plaster.

But Kirsty Sam Ward, on a serious note,
You’re the apple of our heart, on that you can quote,
Your Brothers Aaron and Jack who have grown up with you,
Dad - Jim and Mother - Wendy, who will always love you.

The pride and joy of the last eighteen years,
Can not be expressed without bringing tears,
So here’s to you Kirsty with all that we’ve got,
You’re a beautiful girl, once Blackburns' Mascot.

 Mary Jane

"For Petes sake the waiting is done,
A new Gemini Angel life has began,
At 8 lbs 13 she was a bit of a fatty,
This beautiful baby they are going to call Hattie.

On the 21st of June as the day was dawning,
Out came Mary Jane while Megan was yawning,
936, that time they will surely remember,
The latest edition, a new family member.

Jackie and Steve can’t contain their glee,
Norma as well all grandparents three.
This new wonderful child, a pleasure to hold,
To cuddle and kiss, a miracle is told."

Mark

"Well Angus –Edward- Bent
Another Birthday, over 40 done and spent,
Mar 66 marched in your but,
Another Squaddy ,Oh Tut, Tut,

20 years we’ve been in this game,
Your looking old, but I look the same,
That Belfast Jewellers where we saw the ring,
To Pizzarelly, a Queen for your king,

You could’nt pose the question till all had gone,
We couldn’t get married till garden shopping was done,
My fathers blessing you had to get,
Keep me accustomed, don’t talk wet.

Well my soldier, my monkey as well,
Happy Birthday, your age I won’t tell,
Lets think of the cake and not of the candles,
Look at my face and not at my handles.

Have a great day my darling Mark,
Lets take in a film or go to the park.
Lets be honest and speak of the truth,
We’re nearer to pension than being a youth."

Birthday (Speech)

"On the 12th April 1958, I joined in this race,
It’s now 50 years, since that took place,
My name is Jayne with a Y don’t forget,
But take it from me, I'm not finished yet.

Welcome to this barn dance one and all,
Cowboy hats and boots to appear quite tall,
I had a few worries about having this doo,
As I've played a few tricks on one or two of you.

I fancied a trip to go to the states,
Avoid repercussions from some of my mates,
Disneyland ideally, now don't you snigger,
With Eyeor, Donald Duck and of course Tigger.

In school I favoured sport and a hockey stick,
Than sowing and cooking, I'm no dumb chick,
My cooking is awful, as some of you know,
If I had a dinner no one would go.

But I can’t speak of my life with out a mention,
To Steven of course as we get close to pension,
We have 5 lovely cats and a dog called Sweep,
If push comes to shove I know which I'd keep.

So to some up my life as this milestone reaches,
I don't want champagne, strawberries or peaches,
Just give me my JAG and the highest roller coaster,
Coz the next 50 years I making the Moster.

So heres to Steven and his little Mini car,
30 years in the Police and that’s just so far,
Life’s for the living and not for the Sleeping,
I love my life and that’s what I'm keeping."

Rachael’s Valentines Poem
 Rachael’s Valentines Poem

"To Rachael, my dearest wife,
My partner with whom to travel through life,
She’s gorgeous and sexy, with a heart to match,
Aylesbury towns most sought after catch.

We met through your sister in a Dutch city,
I knew at once - you looked so pretty,
I fluffed up my words as I started to speak,
They came out so wrong, you made me feel weak.

But 2 years on and we both got wed,
A brand new house, a car and a bed,
As we got together, our numbers increased,
We had to expand, make the most of the lease.

We were gifted with children numbering three,
Our pride and joy as all can see,
They break our sleep and trash our house,
Just a little present to my dearest spouse!

As Valentines Day comes around again,
I can’t find the words I need to explain,
That I love you and need you, so please never go,
I’m crazy about you and want you to know.

So here’s to the next years of our life as one,
The time goes so quickly, one blink and it’s gone,
You can keep your night clubs and single bars,
I would rather have cocoa pops and family cars!"

Justine’s Valentine

"I don’t think I should tell you, I just shouldn’t say.
For being so forward I surely will pay,
To voice my affections just here in a note,
Is like crossing an ocean with out use of a boat.

But I fancy you rotten and have to speak,
Risk looking stupid, a bit of a geek,
Bravely I will continue and bite on my lip,
Keep focused on writing and not loose my grip.

Sweetheart you’re special and make me feel odd,
I want to be with you and not on my todd,
So think of me seriously, not like a joke,
I’ll buy you a lager or vodka and coke.

I think I’ve expressed what I am trying to show,
So consider my advances and please don’t say no,
We’d look good together of that I am sure,
Love is my sickness and you are the cure.

I hope by now you know my name,
And treat this quite fondly and play at my game,
I’ll meet you on Friday at your usual place,
I will know if you like me by the look on your face."
